EFM or KPFM test sample on 18mm puck. This sample consists of 5 sets of interdigitated electrodes with different spacing on an insulating substrate (see below schematic). Bias leads are connected to the “metal fingers” via pads on each side of the substrate and allow connection to the AFM tip and sample bias, grounding or external potential controls. Recommendation to keep bias lower than 500mV as too high a bias can break down dielectric material between the metal finger and cause sample damage. (Not suitable for MultiMode AFM, as the 18mm sample puck is too large).
