HarmoniX

HarmoniX^® was developed by Veeco in 2008 to address drawbacks with Phaseimaging ^TM. Phaseimaging ^TM has resonant behavior where the probe acts as a filter, and making it impractical to reconstruct force curves with sufficient precision for quantitative mechanical information.  HarmoniX^® adds a second sensor with a much higher bandwidth by offsetting the tip and measuring the torsional signal.  This technique has been successful in resolving material components in complex polymeric systems.
